Our Kindergarten classes have been working really hard to earn Warm Fuzzies. There are so many ways to earn a Warm Fuzzy in our classrooms. Kindergarteners showing kindness to one another, working hard at centers, using their great listening skills, and always trying his/her best.
Mrs. Good's class earned their 50 fuzzies and had a princess/monster party today to celebrate. Our class earned our last fuzzy today and we will be choosing as a group what we would like our celebration to be! We are so proud of all the progress the kids have made since the beginning of the year!!! We were so fortunate to have Fireman Cook visit us! He did a wonderful job explaining to the kids the dangers of a fire and how to get out when there is a fire. The kids even got to try on the fireman's coat!! The kids had so much fun and are already excited to do it again next year in 1st grade.
Kindergarten is all about the hands-on experience :) We have been practicing sorting objects by their size, shape and color. The kids spent some time sorting shapes in a team and explaining how they sorted their shapes. :)
We practice our sight words in many ways !!! One of our favorites is to sing songs! Check our this fun sight word video for :and!!! Better late than never! Welcome to Kindergarten!!!! On our blog, we are going to try to share pictures of what is going on throughout the day here. We love to share all the fun things that we are doing with everyone. :) We have finished our color units and the color songs are a favorite among the kids. Below are the videos for our color songs to practice at home :) Our Kindergarten classes were finally able to take advantage of the warm weather. We went on a walk around Jefferson School to discover the signs of spring! It was so refreshing to be out in the sunshine! We saw birds building a nest and flowers beginning to bloom! After our walk, we brainstormed as a class what we saw and wrote about it. SO MUCH FUN!
This past week was a blast! The kids had so much fun reading books and doing literacy activities all about Dr. Seuss. We made our own "Cat in the Hat" hats and goldfish graphing for One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish.
